# Getting started

Spotter is a coaching platform for personal trainers and studios. You build a
library of exercises, workouts, and multi-week plans, schedule those plans
onto your clients' calendars, and review what they log. Clients get their own
login — on the web or the mobile app — and see exactly what you assign to
them.

## How you get access

Spotter workspaces are set up by invitation:

1. You receive an invitation email — from the Spotter.fit team when your
workspace is created, or from a workspace admin adding you to an existing
   team.
2. Follow the link and create your account with your email and password, or
continue with Google or Apple. (You can add a **passkey** — Face ID,
fingerprint, or your device's screen lock — after your first sign-in; see
   [Account & security](account-and-security.md).)
3. Accept the invitation and you land in your **workspace** — the home for
your clients, library, and schedule. If you belong to several, see
   [Workspaces & roles](workspaces-and-roles.md).

## Finding your way around

Everything lives in the sidebar:

- **Home** — what needs your attention today.
- **Clients** — your roster and each client's profile: notes, goals,
  check-ins, sessions, and their calendar.
- **Exercises / Workouts / Plans** — your library, from single movements to
  multi-week programs.
- **Surveys** — questionnaires you build once and schedule on client days.
- Admins also see the workspace management pages: **Settings, Training,
Check-ins, Users, Invites**, and — where the workspace pays its own way —
  **Billing**.

The first time you sign in on the web, a short tour points out these areas —
you can dismiss it at any time.

## Home, your daily start

**Home** greets you with the two feeds that drive a coaching day:

- **Needs attention** — logged sessions with unreviewed flags (pain, weight
too heavy, form issues…), each linking straight to the session.
- **Plans ending soon** — clients whose plan is about to run out, so the next
block is ready before they are.

## Your first client, start to finish

1. Have a workspace admin invite the client by email (the **Invite members**
quick action in the sidebar) — see [Clients & invites](clients-and-invites.md).
2. Build a workout or two from your exercises, then lay them out over weeks
   in a plan — see [Plans](plans.md).
3. Publish the plan and assign it to your client with a start date — see
[Assigning plans](assigning-plans.md). The scheduled days land on their
   calendar automatically.
4. As they train and log, their sessions appear under **Clients**, and
anything that needs you shows up on **Home**.
